What a Surgical Care Specialist Offers

Our expertise in cosmetic surgery healing is what makes our service unique from regular caregiving and nursing companies. We use the years of extensive knowledge that we have acquired in the field to provide specialized cosmetic procedure-specific training in all of our care. Specific training in the important healing issues and solutions that relate to the specific procedure(s) that a patient is having is a bonus of our service. For example, if you are having a facelift, you can rest assured that your caregiver has been instructed and trained in all the issues, symptoms, problems and solutions associated with recovery. Our care specialists work with your doctor's protocol to ensure the doctor's post-surgical care instructions are diligently followed.

Our care specialists are available for care to non-plastic surgery patients as well. We care for breast cancer survivors during their surgical procedures, patients recovering from back, hip, knee, general or gynecological surgeries. We are experts in caring for laser skin resurfacing procedures providing treatment that accelerates your recovery time.

We provide customized care specific to the type surgery you are considering. We will be happy to discuss your needs and offer suggestions to identify and satisfy your specific needs. We provide a list of supplies needed for each specific surgery procedure and can procure said items for you. If you are traveling from out of the area, we can assist with hotel accommodations, travel, purchase of supplies, groceries, etc.

How Can A Professional Care Specialist Benefit My Healing Process?

Many patients hire a professional care specialist to care for them during the initial post-op for procedures such as facelift, liposuction, tummy tuck, breast augmentation and all other cosmetic procedures. The reason patients hire a care specialist is to have someone with them during the initial phase of recovery. The patient's energies need to be focused on healing and the main job of the patient is to relax, rest and do nothing else that is not vital to the healing process or anything that could get in the way of healing. A care specialist is necessary to help the patient in all daily functions and activities, including icing swollen areas for the first 48 hours, giving antibiotics and pain medications and any other medications prescribed by the doctor, preparing meals, feeding and giving patient drinks, helping the patient to the bathroom, assisting in bathing and dressing, helping with other personal care, wound cleaning and many other activities.

During the initial stage of recovery, a care specialist is needed because the patient's condition can often prevent them from doing their normal activities. Following surgery, the patient is often low on energy due to the physical trauma of the surgery. The patient may feel disoriented, dazed and "out of it" due to the anesthesia and medications (such as pain medications) that have to be administered. The patient's coordination may be limited and the patient may have difficulty standing, walking and focusing on normal tasks and activities. Attempting to do too much without assistance can disturb and even slow down the healing process and worsen post-operative symptoms such as swelling and bruising. Having an experienced care specialist help you can be of great benefit to help you heal better and faster and provide you with added comfort, safety and peace of mind.
